Clarity In Communication,

With Debbie Rosas.

My body is a master at listening and speaking. Having spent a lot of time listening to my body, I’ve learned to communicate with it. Communicating with people is a whole other thing. They interrupt and think too much! Just ask my husband. He’ll tell you I haven’t mastered the art of listening! But, as a Sacred Athlete, one of the games I want to win is communication. To play the game, I become aware of what place I hold and what I’m expected to do: listen or speak. These two choices direct my attention.

To enhance my listening skills, I imagine myself in a tree, holding space for the winds of spoken word transmission to rustle the leaves without disturbing the roots. To enhance my communication skills, I see myself standing behind a tree and when I speak, I do so with confidence. I have learned that the more I listen, the more I can bring something valuable to my relationships. If I don’t listen, that’s when I get hurt and the relationship I have with myself, my body, and others suffers.

Clarity Allies develop the “Power of Two.” As we develop our consciousness to carefully choose our words, speaking from the first person, we become a powerful communicator vested with impeccability.

This is knowledge you can use to direct your attention toward the quality of how you communicate. This meta-cognitive skill; being able to think about what you’re thinking, is unique to being human and within somatic, metaphysical, health, and wellness education systems, it is unique to the study and practice of Nia. Achieve second-level awareness skills and the way you move and communicate will greatly improve. When it comes to creating successful relationships, clarity of speech is critical.

When it comes to movement and second level awareness, we have three allies that guide and help us stay on course: sensation, the witness, and the conscious personal trainer. We use these allies to help us pay attention and track our choices and decisions. When it comes to communication and second level awareness we have three allies called Clarity Allies: the anchor words of try, hard, and because. We use these three key words to pay attention and track our word choices and to communicate and share with clarity what we want to say.

To master Nia, Art of Communication requires skills to make the subconscious elements of communication conscious choices in the “now.” This kind of wisdom is a second level of awareness.

Throughout Nia, Art of Communication education, we use three key words to monitor the quality of our communication. If we find ourselves using one of these words we simply stop, and begin again. We use these three key words as break points to consciously interrupt the unconscious flow of speaking. We use these three key words to stop and examine our communication. Clarity Allies improve our communication by preventing unconscious communication choices and making conscious communication choices.
