On Transitions, With Debbie Rosas.

We are living in extraordinary times, where transitions shape the fabric of our lives, influencing our bodies, minds, and communities. As someone deeply invested in health, well-being, and the lifelong pursuit of learning; you undoubtedly understand the profound changes that have touched every aspect of our lives, especially in how we connect, grow, and adapt.

These past few years have added a whole new dimension to what it means to transition—both personally and collectively. The work we do with Nia, centered on holistic fitness, health, and well-being has always been intended for every human being. Now, more than ever, this intention takes on a vital role in guiding us through the transitions we all face.

We are all called to learn and improve how we relate to each other and how we navigate our lives. In a world where our actions and decisions ripple through the lives of others, we are no longer isolated individuals. We are a “We,” moving through a global humanitarian transition that touches our language, our social norms, our communication, and our very ways of being.

This global shift requires a new map for a new way of navigating the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. One key concept I found particularly helpful is that navigating change is a “Cultural Humility.” This idea emphasizes a lifelong commitment to learning about ourselves as cultural beings in relation to others. It encourages us to engage in self-reflection.

We must recognize and address power imbalances to build mutually beneficial relationships across diverse communities. Understanding differences between change and transition has been a vital insight for me. Change is an external event that happens quickly and focuses on outcomes. Transition, however, is the process of adjusting to the new reality. It requires time.

The stages of transition, such as “Endings,” a “Neutral Zone,” and “New Beginnings,” each play a crucial role in how we adapt and grow. By acknowledging what we are losing, we begin navigating the uncertainty of the Neutral Zone, and embracing the energy of New Beginnings, with high hopes that we can move forward with more strength and resilience.

As we embark on our journeys, let us commit to managing our transitions with care and intention. Let us all work together to co-create healthy transitions in our bodies, our lives, and our Earth, and our Universe. By supporting each other through these lifelong stages, we can not only survive, but thrive in the new realities that we are building together..

Together as a powerful collection of individuals, visionaries, and dreamers let us lead the way into a brighter future. May we use this time of change to heal, strengthen our connections, and step fully into our best selves as empathetic, compassionate, and resilient individuals. Thank yourself and the many in your world and the world around you for partaking in this journey.
