Me, We, Us: A Framework for Awakening, By Debbie Rosas.
These three simple yet profound words represent an arc of transformation that mirrors the human journey toward unity and wholeness.
- Me: The secular, the individual self. This is where we begin — with the awareness of being separate, of existing as a unique being navigating the world. The focus here is on self-discovery, self-care, and healing. It’s about understanding who we are, what we believe, and how we move through life with authenticity and purpose. When we nurture the “Me,” we create a strong, rooted foundation from which we can connect to others.
- We: The symbolic, the bridge to connection. This phase invites us to explore our relationships—with others, with our communities, and with the larger web of life. Here, we as individuals merge with the collective. This is where collaboration, empathy, and compassion flourish. Through symbolic connection, we become co-creators of meaning, shaping a world that values cooperation and interdependence.
- Us: The sacred, the universal whole. This is the ultimate state of being, where boundaries dissolve, and we experience ourselves as part of the infinite. The “Us” is where we transcend individuality and embody oneness with all that exists and connect with the sacred field of the feminine spirit, the mystery that unites the cosmos, Earth, and humanity in a harmonious dance of creation.
The journey from Me to We to Us is not linear; it is cyclical, ever evolving, deeply personal and transformative. Each step calls us to remember our connection to the feminine spirit—the divine mother, the mystery of life, and the sacred origin of all that is.
The lens of Secular-Symbolic-Sacred parallels the journey of Me-We-Us, offering a way to reframe our relationship with the feminine spirit and our role in the world:
- Secular: In the secular, we are grounded in the physical and practical aspects of life. This is the space of the everyday, the tangible, and the sensory. Here, we focus on individual healing and growth, rooting ourselves in the body, Earth, and the present moment. It’s about reclaiming our personal power and developing a deep sense of purpose and belonging.
- Symbolic: Moving into the symbolic, we engage in the creation of shared meaning and connection. Symbols help us navigate the unseen, translating mystery into forms we can understand. In this space, we cultivate relationships, community, and collective consciousness. Art, language, music, and movement become tools for bridging the gap between the known and the unknown.
- Sacred: The sacred is where we encounter the ineffable—the vast, ungraspable mystery of existence. It’s the space of awe, wonder, and transcendence, where we reconnect with the divine feminine spirit and remember our place within the infinite cosmos. In the sacred, we honor the interconnectedness of all life and embrace our role as stewards of the Earth and co-creators of a harmonious future.
By integrating these perspectives, I believe we can foster a profound shift in how we relate to ourselves, each other, the world, and mother Earth in 2025 and beyond.
