Through the Feminine Eye, With Debbie Rosas.
I was inspired last week, during our Awakening a New Feminine Spirit office hours, by our guest and Neuroscience Educator, Ellen Petry Leanse. Ellen reminded me of something I had forgotten — not just in my mind, but in my bones. It brought me back to a moment of deep remembering, of what it means to feel connected, curious, and alive in this sacred container we call, the body.
Ellen said something simple, yet radical: “We are more than we can ever imagine.” How many times do we need to hear this before we truly believe it? If you’re like me, you forget. I get caught in the loops of habit. I let my brain rely on yesterday’s information to guide today’s possibilities. I slip back into the pattern of mechanical thinking and forget that I am mutable and that I am light.
I am in charge of what I feed my brain. I am not defined by a test, a score, or a binary idea of what intelligence is. I am not a mechanical being. I am a feeling, fluid, fascia-woven being of light and soul. My design is not rigid—it’s responsive. Not linear, but spiraled and relational. I am a spirit carrier. I am a woman awakening. Ellen’s insights helped me remember Allen J. Hamilton’s words in Zen Mind, Zen Horse.
He wrote, “Leaving behind the world that feels real and right to us is an ambitious goal. But there is a universe out there. If we want to become a part of it, we have to use a new paradigm of jointly shared consciousness. We need to experience it in order to believe in it, and to do that we need to eliminate our eyes, at least for a few moments. A tall order.” A tall order, yes. But not impossible.
That’s what Yin-Sight is to me. It is as an inner feminine eye that sees without the use of the outer eyes. It senses what is real by how it feels. Yin-Sight is the slow breath, the soft focus, the willingness to stop reaching and to begin to start receiving. It is not passive—it is power in stillness. It’s the sacred pause that opens the gateway to the deeper knowing that lives beneath all known logic.
Just for a moment, I invite you to return to your primal and wordless awareness. Feel the Chi moving in you. Sense it not just as energy—but as love. Love flowing through your body, the fertile ground beneath your feet, the stars above your crown, and the infinite Universe that holds you. That’s where I found myself after talking with Ellen. I stood at the threshold of a new paradigm.
A paradigm not defined by what science alone can prove, but by what my fascia can feel. And suddenly, the question was not, “What do I know?” The question became, “What am I sensing and what am I willing to remember?” When I began to study fascia, I thought it was just connective tissue—the body’s largest, softest structure. But then, I became hands-on through dissection.
Dissection alongside Gil Hedley, through peeling back the subcutaneous layers and working with the random crystalline threads in soapy water—I felt something awaken. These weren’t just fibers. It was as a fabric of feeling. A living web. A sensory field where time, memory, and matter all spoke as one. Dr. Joanne Averson calls this “the tissue of temporality… the tissue of what is, what was, and what if.” And I could feel it.
I started to imagine my body as a tree. My connective tissues were the branches—not organized or fixed, but playful, alive, ever-reaching—extending from my physical body into the energy field around me. That vision changed everything. I was no longer just in my body. I was in relationship with something greater—body, Earth, Cosmos. There was no separation. Just now. Just oneness.
So how do we live from this remembering? How do we re-pattern our brains not through control, but through compassion? Here’s what I’ve come to understand through my journey—through conversation, reflection, fascia, tears, and truth: Yin-Sight understandings for awakening our feminine spirit in nature is not separate—it is our reflection. Because, the brain learns not just by thinking.
The brain learns from sensing rhythm, light, and season. Through Yin-Sight, we remember that we are nature—our cycles mirrored in the moon and our breath matched by the wind. By returning to nature, we return to our own sacred design, because the mind doesn’t need discipline—it needs devotion. And, we can soften the edges of overthinking with stillness, sound, and ceremony.
The feminine path is one of sacred attention. We care for the mind not by conquering it, but by creating space for it to come home to itself. When guided by Yin-Sight, the brain becomes a conduit for connectedness. It is the tuning fork of the soul—vibrating with memory, meaning, and mystery. We are not trapped in our heads—we are meant to travel with them to feel their frequencies as our whole-being.
Rituals awaken the collective soul. Chanting, dancing, storytelling—these are the neural activators of the feminine spirit. They don’t just light up the brain—they weave it into a web of belonging. Through ritual, we remember who we are to each other, to the Earth, to the Cosmos, and to the Universe. Harmony is not a goal—it’s a pattern we live by. Ancient feminine frameworks aim not for perfection, but presence.
Living in harmony means listening for the sacred yes and for the sacred no. It means trusting your body’s way. It means sensing when to speak, when to move, when to rest, when to rise. This is brain intelligence. This is feminine spirit awakening. I am still learning. Still unlearning. Still peeling back layers of what I was told a brain is supposed to be. But what I know now, I treasure.
My brain is not separate from my whole being in spirit, soul, and body. It is a sacred organ of relationship. And through Yin-Sight, I will continue to guide it—not with pressure, but with presence. Let this be your reminder, too: you are more than you can ever imagine. But you don’t have to imagine it. You can feel it right now and right here, in your own beautiful, awakened feminine spirit brain.
