At Day’s End

It’s What’s for Dinner.

The markets are always blazing with some color and the evenings are just warm enough to enjoy some al fresco delights that come from the kitchen, even as the sun is setting low in the late afternoon sky.

It does not take more than a pot or skillet, with a drizzle of olive oil, and a bit of onion and garlic sautéed to perfection, before a rainbow of washed and prepped vegetables are added for bursts of flavor.

Stirred to an al dente texture with herbs and seasoning, just before serving together with warm crusty bread, softened cheese, an opened bottle of a favorite libation; the pleasure bursts forth in scent.

Whether gathered in good company before ocean views, or tucked in solo at an elegant cafe table on the seasonal porch; the sounds of the night come to life at this hour, for entertainment.

Easy reflection at day’s end allows for refreshment until another begins with the practice of mindfulness that ushers in peace; a spirit, soul, and body lifestyle that includes gratitude for such bliss.
