Healing Collectives

Gathering Love & Holding Light,

From Debbie Rosas.

In support of this year’s theme, “Healing, Rooting, Strengthening,” I could think of no better way to activate and put these words into action than to collectively come together and create a Nia Community Healing Circle for sending healing energy, light, and love to those in need. While it is true that the body can take care of itself, with our collective help it can do better.

As a Healing Circle participant our job is to hold the space for healing potential; giving our time, attention, and intent to gather love and hold light for everyone whose name is brought into the circle. Although from afar, our intentions and prayers become a loving and caring collective that fosters healing for those in need of our company on their whole being journey.

As we stand in the role of healers, our intentions are to bring a nurturing sense of comfort to those in need. We understand that our gathering love and holding light will not eliminate pain and suffering, but that it will ease pain and suffering with our compassion. We sense the needs of others as we assure them that they are not apart from our community; they are within our community.

I know that anyone who desires to do so, might become a part of a healing collective, but I also believe healing arts call to individuals who have a desire to help others. If you are one of those people, you might sense it deep inside your whole being. No matter when or how healers respond to that call, they intuitively know they can do something to make a difference.

Healers are people who view healing both as an innate human gift and as a responsibility. Their philosophy, which is what they believe to be true, is rooted in the wisdom and knowledge that healing is a birthright. They know from experience that human touch and smiles, hugs, or helping hands are essential in strengthening, which is natural to the body.

If you’re wondering how forming a Healing Collective might work, it is simple!

  1. Create a healing collective, and invite others to join. Invite everyone to add the names of those to be included in the group intent to gather love and hold light for them. Invite others to join the collective with the consent of other members at anytime throughout the year and add more names to the healing circle.
  2. Begin each gathering with a focus to create space for healing. Say aloud or silently, “I commit to sending loving and healing thoughts and prayers to everyone present or represented in our healing circle.” You need not know every name, simply think of the circle, and send healing energy to those in the circle.
  3. Encourage everyone to create their own sacred container. As an example, I have a container where I place slips of paper with the names of people in the healing circle. I use this container to focus my attention when I choose to sit, pray, and send healing energy, love, and light to those in the circle.

I’d love to hear about your collectives and how you have grown them and nurtured them. Please email me, whenever you like, and I will look forward to learning more about your healing discoveries.

With Pleasure, Debbie.
